Born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Mohammed Rizlan has become a mainstay of Qatar cricket as a wicketkeeper-batter and, later, captain. He made his T20I debut on 21 January 2019 against Saudi Arabia, marking the start of a steady international run. Elevated to the Qatar captaincy in 2022, he has led the side through regional qualifiers and tournaments. In the 2019 Cricket World Cup Challenge League A, he finished as Qatar’s leading run-scorer with 209 in five matches. On the domestic/franchise front, he shone in the 2019 Qatar T10 League for Falcon Hunters, taking Player-of-the-Match honors in multiple games
